Lala Vartanian has maintained an executive position at Foundation Laboratory for over two decades. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, Vartanian joined Foundation Laboratory in 1998 when the company was in its infancy. Having held literally every management position at Foundation Laboratory over the last 20 years, Vartanian’s knowledge about company operations is vast and thorough. She helped integrate advanced technological changes in both clinical and technical platforms and played an important role streamlining daily operations. During the last 10 years, Vartanian’s focus has been to head the company’s revenue management/client services division located in San Dimas, CA. With the introduction of Viazoi, she now also leads the company’s client service and revenue department.
During her leisure time, Vartanian takes pride in raising her two beautiful children, interior design and enjoys maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
Taleen Vartanian has maintained an executive position at Foundation Laboratory for over two decades. As Vice President of both Finance and Human Resources since 1998, Vartanian provides fiscal leadership and management, including direct management and oversight of Foundation Laboratory and Viazoi. In her Human Resources role, she is responsible for leading the overall human resources strategy, global talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, organizational design and cultural development, employee education and development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology, employee relations, and security. Prior to her current executive role, Vartanian has spent the better part of a decade launching the organization from its infancy.
Vartanian holds a B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara in Biopsychology. In her leisure time, Vartanian enjoys spending time with her three beautiful children, philanthropic endeavors, traveling and spending time being active in her wellness journey.
Jessica Prescher has over six years of laboratory experience, including both research and clinical settings. Jessica began her career in microbiology at University of La Verne where her research on the gut microbiome of cockroaches gained acclimation from the American Society for Microbiology, Southern California Branch.
In 2016, Jessica graduated with her B.S. in Cellular/Molecular Biology and she began work at the San Bernardino County Public Health Department Laboratory. There she helped organize and implement a Bioterrorism workshop, educating health workers on modes of bioterrorism and how to prevent it.
Jessica began working for Foundation Laboratory as a QAAC Engineer in 2017. Since then she has helped create and implement policies to ensure the laboratory is held to the highest standards, bringing the same enthusiasm and meticulousness to the Viazoi division.
Areg Boyamyan has held management positions in Aerospace and Diagnostics/Life Sciences industries for more than two decades. As Senior Vice President and Head of Foundation Laboratory since 2005, Boyamyan has lead Foundation Laboratory to becoming one of the largest privately-held clinical laboratories in the West Coast. Through the development and growth of a workforce of more than 400 dedicated individuals and 100 plus patient service centers, Boyamyan has successfully positioned Foundation Laboratory in the industry as a state of the art clinical laboratory, delivering world-class services to thousands of users.
His vision continues to steer the company as an innovative leader with the introduction of Viazoi, a division of Foundation Laboratory offering specialized testing worldwide.
Boyamyan possesses BS in physics and an MBA in management.
Zareh Baghoomian has over 18 years of direct clinical, operational, and purchasing experience in the healthcare industry. Since joining Foundation Laboratory in 2011, he has implemented multiple efficiency standards driving down costs and helping to bring high-quality tests to patients who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
Dr. Baghoomian initially began his career in healthcare as a dentist catering to poor and disabled patients in the inner cities of Los Angeles. There he realized that in order to have the most impact on the community, he needed to stretch every resource to the limit and to optimize every step of the way. This mantra has continued to be a beacon in his approach to the challenges facing diagnostic laboratories today.
Dr. Baghoomian earned a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology and a DDS from the University of Southern California.
Arineh Vartanian, MPH, has over ten years of experience in healthcare, including product and marketing development and management, healthcare advocacy and health and bio analytics.
Before joining Viazoi in 2016, Arineh was with Zynx Health, a subsidiary of Hearst Corporation, as a Product and Content Developer and Account Manager. While there, she managed a digital healthcare system client portfolio valued at ~ $24MM. Prior to that, she was at the University of Southern California, where she directed studies on current public health issues with academic industry leaders.
Arineh began her career at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, where she conducted and managed research in virus-immune system interactions and viral pathogenesis, pertaining to conditions including the measles and prion disease. Her work has been published in many reputable healthcare journals. Arineh has a degree in Biology and a minor in geographic specialization in Eurasian studies from the University of California in San Diego. She also received her Masters in Public Health, with a focus on Epidemiology and Biostatistics, from the University of Southern California in 2010.
Dr. Frieda Jordan is the co-founder and president of the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR), which was established in 1999 to bring the hope of life-saving bone marrow stem cell transplantation to thousands afflicted by blood-related illnesses.
After earning a PhD in biochemistry from Kings College London University, Dr. Jordan headed the Laboratory Services of the Anthony Nolan Research Center at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Subsequently, she was appointed Associate Director of the HLA and Immunogenetics Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles. Since 2000, she has headed the DNA Molecular Typing Division at Foundation Laboratory, also in Los Angeles.
Dr. Jordan has conducted workshops worldwide and co-authored numerous medical papers. She is a member of the British, European, and American Societies of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, as well as the World Marrow Donor Association and NMDP. Dr. Jordan has been appointed as an official EFI accreditation inspector. She has carried out inspections in Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, and Colombia.
Dr. Jordan’s work as a researcher and president of ABMDR has earned her many accolades in the fields of science, medicine, technology, and humanitarian service. She is the recipient of, among others, the 28th Congressional District Woman of the Year Award, conferred on her by US Congressman Adam Schiff , the Ruby and Service awards from Soroptimist International, the YMCA Women of Heart and Excellence Award, the Outstanding Woman in Business Award in the fields of Science and Technology from US Senator Jack Scott as well as California Assembly members Dario Frommer and Carol Liu, and Armenia’s Presidential Award in the fields of Science and Medicine, St. Nerses the Graceful Medal.
